Where I was... Where I am...

When I first came to ESL 4, I was really nervous for been in my first English class. I thought it would be worse but it wasn't. I always had problem with grammar, but during this semester I became a little more confident while writing essays, doing presentations and how to make a powerful power point. In this entire semester I have learned about my weaknesses in grammar; but using town send press website helped to be a little more practical, also how to make a power point as a collegiate level. Another important thing that we learned was how to make a understandable summary, and this make me glad that I came so far to be a business manager.Right now I am in a point of my life that I say thanks for the chances and opportunities that this class has gave me.

Creating Effective Presentations

Lets said, if you are told to make a power point for a class, this info would help you to become a good visual and expository speaker. Here is a list of how to make a VERY good power point presentation.

    1. The first thing you never should do is, write down all information and then say it again, while the audience can read it fast than you are explain it.
    2. Second, we can say that a power point it is based on picture and some words. If not people easily get bored.
    3. if you can, always can put in your presentation the ''SO WHAT should we care'' by you saying this subject.
    4. Also, know your content. Actually the writing that you might put in the presentation is what is important, to know this info.

The Writing Process

At my ESL class, we are learning how to create an Expository Essay. We were told to do this different steps:

  • First pick ours topics,
  • second, brainstorm,
  • third, organized ours ideas,
  • then look for more information in the web,
  • and finally explained to the instructor if the website is it helpful and trustful or not.

The parts of a writing process are:

  • Invention
  • Collection
  • Organization
  • Drafting
  • Revising
  • and Proofreading (it is for grammar)
